The Council > About the ACC
The Adoption Council of Canada (ACC) is the umbrella organization for adoption in Canada.
Based in Ottawa, the ACC raises public awareness of adoption, promotes the placement of waiting children, stresses the importance of post-adoption services, and supports search, reunion, and unqualified access to identifying information for both adopted adults and their birth parents.
As a national non-profit organization that receives little government funding, the ACC is greatly dependent on the support from its national membership base, as well as donations from the general public. The ACC's charitable registration number is: 13803 1596 RR0001. Please refer to the Canada Revenue Agency, Charities Directorate website for more details: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/chrts/menu-eng.html
