Individual & Marital / Couple Counselling

Adoption brings both happiness and sorrow to the people it touches. For a birth

parent the placement of a child may be the most difficult decision they have ever

had to make.  For some, becoming an adoptive parent may be the culmination of

years of trying to become parents. For a child being adopted may be something

that sets them apart from their peers. Whatever the perspective, adoption has

inherent complexities not present in biological families.

I counsel people as they work through the issues that can arise in connection

with adoption. These include grief and loss, stress, adjustment, identity and

attachment issues.
