Strengthening Post-Adoption Services in Canada
The Adoption Council of Canada (ACC) is working hard to strengthen adoption services across Canada. We have recently hired Judi Varga-Toth to help our organization with this endeavour and we are honoured to have her as part of the ACC team.
The ACC’s post-adoption service initiative will assist adoptive parents in the adjustments and transitions inherent in the adoption process. A support group training material kit will be developed and support group facilitators will be recruited from many provinces and territories.
Provincial and territorial facilitators will then be equipped to share the support group resources with various organizations within their areas. All materials will be translated and professionally designed. The post-adoption services project will allow for needed resource materials and adoption supports.
