Amy’s roots in the Adoption sector began in 1993 as a Foster parent. Concern for the process grew as she cared for available children who, because of budget constraints, waited inordinate periods of time to be united with their adoptive families.
As an adoptive parent, mother of six, Master of Social Work candidate, and Social Worker, she now advocates for children in care on a National level. Recognizing that across the country there must be equitable service for all, with appropriate funding regardless of geographical situation, Amy works on behalf of this vulnerable population. Contributing to the body of knowledge that will help form Federal Policies that equalize provision for supportive Foster and Adoption Services, she feels honoured to be working with the Adoption Council of Canada and the Canadian Foster Family Association towards these goals.
